About this speaker:
Anne Parker is a qualified L&D professional and uses her wealth of experience to enable companies to develop capabilities such as cultural agility, intercultural communication and self leadership. In 2011, she developed a unique, common sense approach to cross cultural adaptation that enables instant behavioural change which she has used in multiple trainings and workshops and in a co-authored book. Anne was born to British parents in New Zealand and has lived in Hong Kong, Bahrain, Jamaica, Nigeria, UK, Australia and is now based in Amsterdam.

About this leqture:
The topic of culture can sometimes seem dry or theoretical, however in reality we all have a natural ability to connect with people from different cultural backgrounds and we do this everyday unaware of the skills and tools we are using. In this session we bring a fresh approach to culture, focusing on developing your natural ability to adapt to different people into a concious cultural agility to connect, understand and be understood.
The focus of this session is to show you a simple framework that enables you to analyse the person in front of you, building on your own social skills and experience, and identify what is important to them culturally and then be able to choose from a range of practical strategies to improve your communication.
The result is that you will understand more about cultural expectations and you will have 1 cultural framework to apply at work and home to approach cultural differences, rather than having to learn many different national characteristics for many different people and situations, to be able to cross cultural barriers and work effectively in an international setting.
